Boys Noize - What You Want VIDEO PREMIER

what you want video
Boys Noize carries authenticity in his original productions and live shows.
That can be officially said for his music videos as well!  We've seen DJ's such as Laidback Luke pose as super hereos but Boys Noize went a different route with the theme.  The 'What You Want' Video places a new neighbor into a neighborhood composed of super humans.

"The idea was to interpret the lyrics 'what you want/what you get' as a metaphor of consumerism," Boys Noize mastermind Alex Ridha told Rolling Stone. "It's also a reflection on the concept of normality. In a world where singularity is the norm, is being normal making you the exception? Then, the goal was just to had fun with costumes and visual effects. We wanted to communicate this awkward feeling you have when you're at a costume party, but you're the only one not wearing a costume."

Boys Noize went on to explain that his inspiration for 'What You Want' came from none other then the Beastie Boys. "Their Licensed to Ill album is one of my all-time favorite records, and to me 'What You Want' has some sort of B-boy style mixed with my obsession on robot vocals and modern sound aesthetics. This song combines a lot of things I love about electronic music," Ridha said last July in Rollinstone.

If you loved the song, we can tell you that Boys Noize Live show opened up with it at his House of Blues Show in Boston.  It brought the crowd into unison and set the house on fire!  Not to mention Boys Noize set followed up with his original music that was liberating and awing   It was a delicious break from the electro cheese that has flooded the city as of late.

Jackpot- Quintino and Ralvero

Spinnin' Records has finally released the awaited "Jackpot" by dutch-house Wall Recordings labelmate Quintino and up-and-coming Ralvero.

We had the opportunity to hear Jackpot live at the Mmmmaven Studio when Quintino joined us for the launch of our interview series Mic'd Up and let me tell you this song is nothing short of a banger! Surely to be a staple in the upcoming festival season, the duo gives us some good electro house beats to dance to while we prepare to catch Quintino at Ultra Music Festival in March and hear him drop the track live.

Download it on Beatport today.

Kaskade's "Late Night Alumni" Releases 4th Album

kaskade mix

We all know and love Kaskade's weekly mashup mondays! However, that's not all the Big Room House producer has been up to. Kaskade is an active member in the band Late Night Alumni. The group released their fourth album, The Beat Becomes A Sound, on January 29. The group is composed of singer and lyricist Becky Jean Williams and led by producers John Hancock (who has produced David Archuleta, among other artists), Finn Bjarnson (Pleasant Grove producer who is Kaskade’s musical partner) and Kaskade, aka Ryan Radon.

The album varies from Kaskade Mixes DJ work but the overtunes of his style are very present in the album. It features the quartet’s signature down-tempo blend of vocals, strings, drum breaks fused with electronic elements.

In addition to ‘The Beat Becomes A Sound,’ record label Ultra is going to release a 6 week video series, featuring Late Night Alumni’s performance at the Masonic Temple in Salt Lake City.  The series will feature unreleased material from the new album along with a plethora of past album hits.

We will keep you curent with side projects and other kaskade mixes as they become available!
