My night traveling to see Dada Life Boston Show at the Wonderland Ballroom was something I was looking forward to due in large part to the crazy amount of energy Dada Life bring to the Stage. Not to mention, this would be my first time out to the Wonderland Ballroom in Revere. The only question I had was would the night ahead be as questionable as the train ride or blow me away?
Fortunately, the Wonderland Ballroom is just steps outside the train stop, and was a good way to make up for the ride out. Waiting outside in line with dozens of people was no problem, everyone was friendly and in good spirits. At Wonderland, security was VERY strict and we recommend not bringing more then your wallet and cell phone. It ended up costing me my keychain lanyard and my friends highlighter after a heavy pat-down.
12th Planet took the stage after a short opener warmed the crowd. 12th planet took to the mic once on the decks and got everyone feeling right. He requested positive party vibes and safety through the night. The opening bass line on his first track literally shook the crowd. His set consisted of a good mix of hip hop, trap, dubstep, and moombah that really brought the crowd up and dancing. Most of the crowd was scattered and there was plenty of room to dance and have a blast, which really set up the atmosphere well for the headline act.
At one point in the night, a man in a banana costume onstage unplugged something and cut the sound, really showing how bananas the night had been. The whole time, smoke machines, inflatable bananas, real bananas, and champagne were fling about and people couldn't get enough!
Superman crowdsurfing brought everyone jumping, and the night closed how they began, kicking out the epic motherf*ckers.
With a quick step to the train, the crowd could get home safe and look back on what may be the wildest party in Boston this fall season, only time will tell.
