WHY ELECTRIC SUN FESTIVAL WAS A DISASTER - BEWARE OF SHADY PROMOTERS

(WhiteRaverRaftingThis past weekend, while many were partying at Electric Zoo and North Coast Music Festival, there was a festival disaster taking place in Jacksonville, Florida. Electric Sun Festival, which touted a lineup including Tiesto, 12th Planet, Robbie Rivera, Downlink and more crashed, burned, and cancelled it’s Day 2 events without refunding or notifying ticket holders of the cancellation. Matt Richardson of Redline Entertainment Group left nothing but a sign in the parking lot with his number, which many said wasn’t answered.
Ticket holders were notified with this

What Happened?

The question is, what the hell happened? Tiesto made an announcement through facebook and twitter that he...

Pieces of Light - Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman || Big Room House Banger

Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman are back again with another smashing Big Room Track.  Previously we have highlighted the duo's massive tracks "Roll the Dice" and Russia.  In their new track, "Pieces of Light" Dimitri tells us, "We felt like doing a track that went back to our regular sound a bit, but still has some touches from Russia and the remix of EDX & Nadia Ali's This is your life. We feel very happy with the track." And sure as hell they should, the powerful vocals of Jonny Rose heighten the build and the siren drop have feel good track written all over it!

"Pieces of Light" will be released October 1st  on Beatport and EDMBoston really believes this track will see some support from the big name guys

Green Day wants to "Kill the DJ"

Look what we have here!  Good 'ol green day has decided to make a play on four on the floor beats.  In their new dance track "kill the DJ" armstrong set out to make a dance track without turning into a dance band.  The question is why did they feel the need to set out to make a dance track?

(Huffington Post) Green Day apparently isn't taking kindly to the expansion of electronic dance music in the states. In their new video for "Kill the DJ," Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dimt and Tre Cool ride motorcycles through the desert and eventually arrive at a sloppy dance party, complete with ravers in kandi bracelets and corsets.
Eventually, someone dies, and though the death isn't explicitly shown, the amount of blood covering the dancers -- when paired with lyrics like "Shoot the f---ing DJ / someone kill the dj / voices in my head are saying / 'shoot that f---er down'" -- doesn't leave much to the imagination.
Frontman Armstrong told Rolling Stone the song was meant to be a...

12-year-old DJ Making Moves in Texas

(Chron.comElle Morgan has a baby face, even for a 12-year-old.
She's tiny - 4 feet, 9 inches and 63 pounds - and just started seventh grade at Knox Junior High School in The Woodlands earlier this month. "I'm really excited, because it's bigger, and there are a lot more classes," she says. "I've never actually had to go from class to class."
Her voice is sweet and soft, but there's a twinkle, especially when she scrolls off the names of artists who occupy space on her iPod.
"A lot of Steve Aoki and Afrojack, Nervo and some Skrillex songs," she says. Morgan even caught Dutch DJ Afrojack at the Free Press Summerfest, where she managed to get into the onstage VIP booths with her dad.
What about the usual tween favorites? One Direction? Katy PerrySelena Gomez?
"No," Morgan says, her face scrunching up. (She does, however, like the Disney Channel.) "I've been with house music all my life. I've been listening to that music since I was in my mom's womb. We always listened to it in the house."
Her parents, who worked in the club industry for several years, took Morgan to see iconic DJ/producer...
