Avicii Arena Tour Le7els Announces Opening acts

Looks like Avicii won't be touring alone on his upcoming Le7els tour this summer! Just announced: Gareth Emery, ARTY, Swanky Tunes, Cazzette,Morgan Page, Chuckie, and Pleasurekraft will all be joining the tour!

Boston will be seeing Morgan Page & Pleasurekraft.

Infected Mushroom New Stage Setup

Instead of touring with a live band, Infected Mushroom, has decided to up the ante of their live shows, with an insane light show featuring two balls.  The balls were created by LA based production house V square Labs.  The CEO even joked when Infected Mushroom first came to them " 'Yeah, we’re gonna make you two big balls!’ But now it’s like, fuck! This show is far more complicated than our original meeting.”

Amit ‘Duvdev’ Duvdevani and Erez Eisen apparently requested a show that featured them side-by-side in spheres, hence the “big balls”. Over the 90 minute show, imagery is projected onto the spheres, creating the ‘3D projection mapping’ effect. As for the visual content, V Squared went for seemingly disparate themes that all come together into a narrative. “I was looking all over the Internet at biology websites, Wikipedia, chicken larvae, The Matrix, underwater photography, surgery on tumours, all kinds of weird stuff,” he says.

NEED TO LISTEN: Boston's Own Dubstep/Electro group: Butlertron [FREE DOWNLOADS]

EDMBoston has been trying relentlessly to get upcoming Boston producers more involved in the Blog.  That means we encourage people to email in their material on top of us hunting for new projects.  Late last week we made a fun find.  When stumbled on upcoming Boston dubstep and electro producers, Butlertron, in our searches for new music.  We reached out to them immediately.

You have to hear the sound they are producing in our backyard!

Butlertron has been producing various genres for the last decade and in 2011 they focused their craft on creating floor shaking bass with upbeat prose.  Butlertron's track 'Promise Me' is a dubstep anthem that jumps from funky beats to uplifting chords to catchy chip leads. You find yourself shifting from electro to dubstep and back in a refreshing way.

Jay-z Wants in on EDM

Jay-Z announces he will headline 'Budweiser Made
In America' Festival in Philadelphia

The hip-hop mogul, Jay-z, hasn't lost any steam in his career, with a new baby, blue ivory, in his life.  The summer sees him embarking on a headline performance at Budweiser's "Made in America Fest" to take place in Philly on Labor Day weekend.  However you won't be hearing any new Jay-z material anytime soon.  IN regards to new studio material Jay-z had this to say,


"I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter,"... "I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I'm sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point."


More importantly, Jay-z had an interesting answer when billboard magazine asked him about the "EDM/ dance craze that's blowing up right now."
