As the band took the stage for their Boston Show, the crowd was rearing to go, in anticipation for the heavy show Modestep is known to bring (read our Modestep Preview). A dubstep and drum and base band from the United Kingdom, Modestep brings a unique sound to the table, mixing elements of live hard rock and metal with electronic music. Following the release of their debut album, Evolution Theory, they kicked off their first ever American tour with stops at both weekends of Ultra Music Festival, as well as SXSW in Austin, TX. With their single, "Sunlight" being remixed by numerous artists recently (I personally heard it played at the majority of dubstep acts at Ultra), the band has quite a buzz surrounding their tour.
Fans who turned out to Royale Nightclub last night were, however, in for quite a disappointment. The show started off strong, as they hopped quickly between songs, mixing in some of their own tracks such as "Bite the Hand", "Praying for Silence", and "Feel Good", as well as remixes of Skrillex's "Promises", Flux Pavilion's "I Can't Stop", and Knife Party's "Fire Hive".
