Markus Schulz Coldharbour Day Set 2013 [4 hours]

markus schulz coldharbour

At each turn it appears Markus Schulz is playing longer and longer sets. While after his 12 hour performance at Tomorrowland, you are safe in guessing that the artists is turning it back to easier digestible sets. At Coldharbour he took it easy with only a 4 hour set. Check it out below.

Markus Schulz Boston: Screaming Review

Markus Schulz Boston

By Mike Hurowitz

Anyone who was lucky enough to be in Boston at Royale Nightclub on April 10th could tell you that it was an incredibly special night. With serious star power in The M Machine as the opening act, and superstar German trance producer Markus Schulz set to play for a full two hours, little else could have been expected.

Schulz got the Boston crowd going immediately, taking the stage as soon as The M Machine had walked off. Starting off with an energetic track, he surprised fans with a quick blast of the confetti cannons two minutes into the show. What struck me as perhaps the most remarkable part of the show was Schulz's ability to maintain a sense of momentum throughout the set. Although the entire set was incredibly high energy, he brought it in waves, building a track up until the crowd seemed ready to burst, and finally breaking it down.

The Markus Schulz Boston set truly was something special. Perhaps riding his momentum from incredible performances at the various ASOT 600 events, in particular his New York collaboration with Ferry Corsten, in a project called New World Punx, made it a night to remember. While he remixed many popular tracks by other artists, such as "Out of my Mind" by Bingo Players, or "Dream Within a Dream", by Hanz Zimmer, perhaps most memorable was his nod to trance god, Armin van Buuren, with "D# Fat" featuring W&W.

Markus Schulz, the first in a string of trance artists who are slated to hit Boston over the next month, was a great way to kick it all off. We can only imagine what is in store for us with Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren and more set to perform at venues across Boston.

Markus Schulz Boston Show Preview ~ Scream Tour Edition

By Justin:

The man, the myth, the legend, Markus Schulz, more adoringly known by his fans as the ‘Unicorn Slayer’ is stopping by Royale Boston tonight as part of his Scream Bus Tour across America. He is coming fresh off his electrifying performance at ASOT600 in NYC a couple weeks back, where he combined forces with Ferry Corsten to announce their new EDM supergroup, New World Punx.

For those of you who are just now learning about the great Markus Schulz, back in September he was voted America's Number 1 DJ by DJ Times and ranked #13 on this year’s DJ Mag top 100 DJs. He has been around the block since the early 90’s and has worked with numerous artists across all music borders. Over the years, he has been able to mold a unique sound, combining progressive house and trance. He has even released more progressive edged tracks under the alias Dakota to rave reviews. He has contributed to the A State of Trance radio show since its inception, and also hosts his own show titled 'The Global DJ Broadcast'. He has two amazing singles out right now off his brand new album Scream that are littering the airwaves, 'Love Rain Down' feat. Seri, and 'Nothing Without Me' feat. Ana Diaz.

Considering that he has just played on one of the biggest stages in the world, to be able to hear him spin at Royale will be quite the treat. The sound system there may not have been able to handle Modestep’s pounding bass last week, but I’ll put money on Schulz’s smooth synths and ambient vocals sounding just fine throughout the night.

If you aren’t excited already, get excited, because this will be an experience you won’t forget. There are still tickets available, get them while you can because you really don’t want to miss seeing this legend in action.

Markus Schulz - Love Rain Down (Dabruck and Klein Remix) || Prog House

By: Lauren

Markus Schulz, the German progressive house/trance DJ has been taking the world by storm in the last year. After appearing at Ocean Club this past summer, his new album “Scream” was released at the end of August, featuring a song entitled “Love Rain Down” with vocalist Seri.

The Dabruck and Klein remix was featured on the most recent of Arty’s “Together We Are” podcast, and we thought it was so good that it deserved its own post. Taking a page from his trance days, Markus’ “Love Rain Down” is an uplifting and continuously melodic electric track. This remix makes it into a heavier bass-driven progressive house song, with choppier vocals and flowing synths. The buildup is the classic progressive overlay of romantic female vocals mixed with piano tinkles that drops into a pulsing, trance-y groove.

With the release of Scream Markus is for sure to have a big year coming up for him.

This remix along with 7 others are available exclusively on Beatport. Buy it here.

Markus Schulz vs Ferry Corsten – Loops & Tings (Extended Mix)

Two of the main titans of trance, Marcus Schulz and Ferry Corsten, have come together to produce a track! The two friends, who have played notable back to back sets in Birmingham, Buenos Aires and Las Vegasin 2012, have come together to pay homage to a track of the old school. Marcus Schulz vs Ferry Corsten Loops and Things resurrection of "Loops & Tings", originally released by Jens in 1993, is reminiscent of the explosion of dance music throughout Europe in the early part of that decade. The theme became even more familiar to listeners worldwide when Marco V applied his touch ten years after the original, yielding Loops & Tings relooped. Now Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten conceive a fitting tribute for 2012 dancefloors.

The track was debuted during Ferry’s landmark 8 hour Corsten’s Countdown episode 250 broadcast from New York City. Loops & Things has also seen play in the two DJs sets, most notably at Electric Daisy Carnivals in Las Vegas and New York and from Markus and Ferry’s respective Ibiza residencies at Privilege and Eden. Most new wave clubbers may not be familiar with the melody of past but its great to see it resurrected.

"I’m on a two-hour trek to travel a mere 12 miles. I need to pee very badly. And there’s a DJ snoring in my lap.
I’m traveling to EDC Las Vegas with Markus Schulz, who is tuckered out after gigs the past few days that have included Houston, Berlin, Poland, Ibiza and Romania, where he shot a video for his upcoming single, “Caught,” with Adina Butar.
Our SUV includes team members from Armada management, and we’re tuned into “Electric Area” on Sirius, which is broadcasting live from EDC. When Markus' name gets mentioned during the rundown of the lineup still to come tonight, everyone pokes a little fun, repeating his name like crazed fans, “Markus Schulz!”
By the time Schulz’s head eases up on my bladder,

2011. The Year Of Dance Music.

This year has truely been magical in the EDM Industry.  So many amazing things have happened and the movement exploding in the US was the crown jewel.  Furthermore 2011, marked the founding of EDMBoston.

We'd like to reach out and thank all of the fans.  You are what make this website happen.  Your generous page views and clicks of our partner ads keep the website going.  In addition, I'd like to thank the kind people at the Estate for hooking EDMBoston up with access to visiting DJ's.

There is so much to look forward to in 2012 but 2011 will not be a year to be forgotten.  We saw Swedish House Mafia do a historic take over of Madison Square Garden, Alesso break on to the scene, Skrillex capture the hearts of the EDM underground movement, and the first national EDM Tour in the US happen (Identity Festival).  In addition, lets not forget about Kaskade loading up a traktor trailer to do a mobile live set and cause a riot or the time Deadmau5 covered an entire building with a video screen.

Boston even got in on the mix.  Afrojack, Tiesto, Deadmau5, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Martin Solveig, Avicii, and Chuckie were just a few of the names to visit us.  UMass and other colleges are fully embracing EDM on campus and transitioned from a hip-hop based culture to that of House/PLUR.  With the infrastructure set we can't imagine what is ahead for Identity festival 12 and all the clubs have in store for us.

So much good has happen this year that we can't list it all.
