Leona Lewis Bitches “We Found Love” was hers First!

(Magnetic Magazine) "An interesting piece of news in the EDM world today: as it turns out, exotic pop icon Rihanna was not the original singer on Calvin Harris’ smash hit “We Found Love.” That’s right, Harris and another exotic diva originally began work on the song and recorded it together. So who was this other singer?

Non other than the multi-platinum selling artist and three-time Grammy nominee Leona Lewis. The singer told The Daily Star on the subject that Harris and herself had worked on and recorded “We Found Love,” but then “he went touring with Rihanna and she ended up releasing it.” Lewis added, “I didn’t commit to it [the song] because I wanted ‘Trouble,’ to be my [next] single so I think that was another reason they went with Rihanna.”
“It was the same version and production but mine’s better…it was a bit annoying to see how big a hit it was around the world…”
So it appears everyone got what they wanted, right? That may be so, but the replaced Lewis believes that her version of the song is better than Rihanna’s. “It was the same version and production but mine’s better…it was a bit annoying to see how big a hit it was around the world but if I’d released it maybe it wouldn’t have done so well.” Maybe, maybe not; since Lewis has stated she will not in fact leak the version of herself singing, the world will probably never know. Oh, well. Riri did rock it."

Earth Wind and Fire - September (James Egbert Remix) (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Dangerous Territory right here.  September by Earth Wind and Fire is arguably one of the greatest dance songs of all time.  It can get people from any age group on the dance floor and leave them all with the feel good "warm fuzzies".

That being said james egbert's remix attempt is a pretty good one.  Given the original is untouchable due to its classic nature, it makes it near impossible to top. However, Egberts attempt doesn't fall short of a good effort.

Best of Horrible DJ Promo Photos

Article taken from HeadofRothChild.com and was not written or edited by EDMBoston.com
(HeadofRothchild.com) There is nothing I enjoy more than finding corny DJ “promo” pics online where local DJ’s try to be models or Super heroes by having a photo shoot to showcase their DJ career.   I always thought producing music or putting out mixes is the way to do it but unfortunately there are local DJ’s in your area who are feelin themselves a little too hard. Now we’ve done this in the past but this time we put out a call on the HOR Facebook page asking for people to submit who they think have corny pics.  Before we get started we should cover the criteria of what exactly is a corny promo pic.  This usually involves people standing anywhere but in a DJ booth trying to look “epic” and usually holding at least 1 piece of Dj equipment which most of the time is a CDJ, Serato Record, or headphones.  The best part about these pics is that there never plugged into anything nor are said Serato records on a turntable.  Just out in the city or the woods holding DJ equipment.
We got a lot of these pics sent in but after LoLing through them all, these are the ones that made the cut.  Remember these are reader submissions.

I have headphones, BOOK Me

Note to DJ’s: If you’re going to take photos with you DJing, plug your equipment in.
WAIT A FUCKIN SECOND…..
So all you have to do is grab a CDJ and act like a model?  Well Shieeeeeeeeeet I CAN DO THAT. Fuck a mixtape!

Kaskade Mashups || Angel On My Stronger - (Nicky Romero Mix) [Kaskade FON Mash]

If you traveled to any of the Freaks of Nature shows this summer, this Kaskade mashups should sound familiar.  While most would point way to Hardwell as the mashup progressive house king, Kaskade shouldn't be overlooked.  His unique approach to mashups has a unique way of refreshing segments of song's vocals or melodies.

In Kaskade mashup of "Angel on My Shoulder", Kaskade choice was to refreshen the luscious vocals in his original track.  Nicky Romero's melody on his remix of Kelly Clarkson's Stronger was the perfect vehicle to do so and as a result we have a lovely mashup.

Butlertron Break Down How they Made Their New Track 'HER FAVORITE DJ' [FREE DOWNLOAD]

By Butlertron:

Hey folks! Mike and Mike from Butlertron here to give you a sneak peak into the studio where we conjure up those dirty beats and catchy tunes. We've got an exclusive preview of our brand new moombahton track, Butlertron - Her Favorite DJ.

We started sketching out this tune by writing the chord progression for the introduction using a simple pluck patch. We knew we had something solid when we lost ourselves jamming out on keys over this loop, so we recorded a couple lead lines and moved on to the drop.

I setup sidechaining over a four-to-the-floor kick loop and pulled up Massive to create a pumping bass sound. It is amazing what some detuned saws, a little distortion, and EQ can do. Layering that with a fuzzier, more distorted bass patch, we tweaked the filter and sidechain settings until we found that groove. After adding another wobbly bass patch and a supersaw for chords we started tracking out the drop, experimenting with different forms and melodies. We kicked the chords up a notch by automating the vibrato and drowning them with reverb, keeping them tight by cutting off the tails. By this point we
knew the track had potential but it was crying out for vocals.

So we thumbed through our collection of...

Spor's 2 New Tracks || New Drum N Bass

For those of you that think you don't know Spor, aka Jonathan Gooch, guess again.  Feed Me is Spore's alter ego and way of keeping Gooch's two different production stylings separate.  It appeared Spor was tucked away in the back closest and all we'd be hearing is Feed Me productions.  However Jonathan Gooch has surprised us with two Drum N Bass Spore tracks :)
