Cosmic Opera - Multimedia Dance Shows Coming to Hammerstein Ballroom with Axwell

(new york times) A young entrepreneur from Long Island announced plans on Wednesday to stage a series of dance-music concerts at the Hammerstein Ballroom this year that will feature surreal projections on the walls of the Manhattan Center’s ornate room.

The series is called “Cosmic Opera” and the headliner for the first concert on Feb. 24 will be Axwell, one of the three disc jockeys in Swedish House Mafia. Axwell will be joined by at least two other electronic musicians during a six-hour show, though those musicians have yet to be named.

The 25-year-old concert organizer Justin Cohen, who is known for having run a successful series of business conferences called the Summit Series, said he had ambitions to change the way people experience electronic-dance concerts, turning them into theatrical events with dreamlike imagery.

‎5Five New Bootlegs by Matisse & Sadko ||EDMBoston Bootlegs

After seeing Kap Slap last night, I was dying for more EDM mashups.  Often times they don't work very well but Kap Slap and now Matisse & Sadko have laid down the ground work for an underground society to thrive.  Check out these new mashups from Matisse & Sadko.

We particularly like "Aura Walking Alone" and "Dub Of Boom De Floor (Matisse & Sadko Mash Up)"

Antidote has finally been unleased on the public and hit itunes stores worldwide.  Along with the original mix by SHM and Knife Party comes a remix by Tommy Trash.  Pete Tong dropped a sample of it on his weekly radio show, THe Essential Mix, and its been burning up the electro scene.  Ok maybe i made that up but its badass.

Swedish House Mafia Technical Problems with Tickets

Swedish House Mafia's tema left us with this message after tickets were unable to be sold the other day

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, our ticket on-sale date has been pushed back. Stay tuned for further announcements. We appreciate your patience, in the meantime here's a little something for you..."

Nicky Romero – Generation 303 [Musical Freedom]

Blogs, DJs, and MTV(cuz they have credibility in the EDM game), are all calling Romero the man to watch in 2012.  In 2011 he proved to be an artists with unmovable assets in the EDM industry and he was received well by many fans.  As his reputation continued to soar, he kept the pace of his remix releases on track.  At 22 Romero is amongst the youngest elite producers in the genre and his age isn't holding him back.  If you look at the industry as or late, its all the young guns killing it.  Avicii, arty, porter robinson, skirllex, and romero.  They are all sub age 24.

In Romero's latest rework, he dips into the unforgettable Chemical Brothers "Block Rocking Beats".  However, Romero avoids the stamina of the rhythmic thechno from yesteryear and injects his own special twist to make an onforgetable piece of Dance Music.  Romero utilizes classic acid swirls and a pulsing beat that will mesmerize the shyest of dance floors.
