Boys Noize - What You Want VIDEO PREMIER

what you want video
Boys Noize carries authenticity in his original productions and live shows.
That can be officially said for his music videos as well!  We've seen DJ's such as Laidback Luke pose as super hereos but Boys Noize went a different route with the theme.  The 'What You Want' Video places a new neighbor into a neighborhood composed of super humans.

"The idea was to interpret the lyrics 'what you want/what you get' as a metaphor of consumerism," Boys Noize mastermind Alex Ridha told Rolling Stone. "It's also a reflection on the concept of normality. In a world where singularity is the norm, is being normal making you the exception? Then, the goal was just to had fun with costumes and visual effects. We wanted to communicate this awkward feeling you have when you're at a costume party, but you're the only one not wearing a costume."

Boys Noize went on to explain that his inspiration for 'What You Want' came from none other then the Beastie Boys. "Their Licensed to Ill album is one of my all-time favorite records, and to me 'What You Want' has some sort of B-boy style mixed with my obsession on robot vocals and modern sound aesthetics. This song combines a lot of things I love about electronic music," Ridha said last July in Rollinstone.

If you loved the song, we can tell you that Boys Noize Live show opened up with it at his House of Blues Show in Boston.  It brought the crowd into unison and set the house on fire!  Not to mention Boys Noize set followed up with his original music that was liberating and awing   It was a delicious break from the electro cheese that has flooded the city as of late.

Boys Noize XTC- New Synthy Single from Out of the Black

By Lauren:

While this track might have been out for a few months now, Boys Noize just released his new album "Out of the Black", featuring XTC as a single. XTC has been backed by A-Trak, Justice, Chemical Brothers, and other well-known DJs. It's being played in major sets and causing mass dancefloor chaos.

This song breaks down into funky synths and whispering, techtonic vocals that Alexander Ridha is so well known for, being a techno producer in this electro age. The lyrics are sultry and infused with the seductive-ness of the EDM scene. Simply put, this track is meant to be listened to at HIGH VOLUME. Pulsating bass and synthetic buildups create a track that is begging to be remixed, but still showcases Boys Noize's skills as a talented producer.

"Out of the Black" was released Boysnoize Records on October 2 and is definitely worth picking up if you like this track or if you like the modern sounds of techno. Buy it on Beatport.

Even better than the album is that Boys Noize is coming to Boston on December 2! EDMBoston will be there with you at House of Blues to be covering this show that you must go to. After seeing Boys Noize at Electric Zoo, he is an act not to be missed.

Boys Noize: Today's EDM Feels 'Too Generic'

(Rollingstone) With a headlining set at Los Angeles' Hard Summer fest that was a relentless techno assault – and a reminder of a time, only a few years ago, when big-room house wasn't in pop radio rotation – German DJ and producer Alex Ridha, better known under his nom de techno Boys Noize, showed that he's sticking to his guns even as electronic music has moved into the mainstream. Relaxing with a beer in his trailer a few hours beforehand, Ridha acknowledged that he wanted to challenge his audience, not just play the hits.
"I always love to play jacking stuff and harder stuff," he said. "Right now, like in the last two years, a lot of the electronic music, or what you call now, EDM feels generic for me sometimes and a bit soulless."
Ridha's answer is...
