Deadmau5 & David Guetta Grammy's Performance

That's right, the Grammy's have inked Deadmau5 and David Guetta to perform at their famous awards show.  This is the first time Electronic Dance Artists will be used as performers at the Grammy's.  Weird right?  Well Dance Music didn't even have its own category at the Grammy's until 2003, with the introduction of the category "Best dance recording/dance field"  So yea the Grammy's are a little behind.
As evidenced by the Grammy's chief producer, "I don't know that I figured out a way to do it that felt right until now," Ehrlich said in an interview Monday. "My feeling about dance is it's such an immersive experience for the participant, that to put it on stage ... where the audience is not a part of it ... I don't know, honestly, until we came up with the idea of doing it this way, I don't know if it ever would have worked."

So lets summarize that quote, the mainstream didn't like EDM in the past, so we couldn't put it on the main stage.

But the past is the past.  EDM's cultural revolution is following the great outbreak of country music, back in the early 2000's in the US.  All it took was a few artists to change the genre's sound to a more mainstream sound.  From there, the genre went on to infect the masses.  Till today country festivals and artists are still receiving attention from the public at large.  We at EDMBoston feel, the EDM movement will play out the same way.  It appears, the Grammy's also think so to, with this nodd.

Daft Punk in Talks With Nile Rodgers for New Album

We Don't get to feature news often on Super Power group Daft Punk.  However, news surfaced that the duo is in talks with disco legend, Nile Rodgers, over producing a track for a talked about upcoming Daft Punk Album.  We really hope this happens because Daft Punk needs to get back out on tour.  Alive was like the ultimate cliff hanger, leaving fans wanting more and Daft punk hasn't followed up.  Maybe this will be the album that inspires a new tour??

Read the article below for the particulars:

By Carrie Battan

"Chic frontman and disco-funk pioneer Nile Rodgers tells Houston's CultureMap that he's free of cancer and planning to work with Daft Punk on the duo's forthcoming record (via the Daily Swarm "Those guys are great," he told CultureMap. Zedd – Stars Come Out (Tim Mason Remix)

Tim Mason's most current work has been released and he has chosen to remix Zedd's "Stars Come Out".  Mason's remix has Big Room progressive house appeal and it's easy to understand why Tiesto and Thomas Gold have worked Stars Come Out (Tim Mason Remix), into their respective podcasts.

Tim mason is fresh off his successful tracks "Anima" and "The Moment".  Both of which are favorites of the trio Swedish House Mafia.  Axwell dropped, "The Moment" at his recent set in Moscow and the others use his tracks with frequency.  Keep an ear out for Stars Come out (Tim Mason Remix).

OTTO KNOWS - MILLION VOICES [RELEASED]

Otto Knows "Million Voices" has been released today by Refune Records.  We've been saying it for a while now, but this infectious track is about to dominate.  It received air play from Pete Tong on radio 1 last friday and it hasn't disappeared from the internet yet.  Once the state side college crew hears this tune, we're talking "Levels" type of infection.

The big room sound and addictive vocals are amaze-balls and an all out progressive house banger.
