Zeds Dead interview

(National Post) Electronic dance music is becoming something Canadians do exceedingly well. Zeds Dead is no exception. The group is comprised of Hooks and DC, two Toronto producers who started working under the moniker Zeds Dead (yes, a nod to Pulp Fiction) in 2009. The duo will bring their act to Yonge-Dundas Square on Saturday, July 28, headlining the Mad Decent Block Party. We talked hometown shows and the taxonomy of dubstep with Hooks this week.
Q: What does it mean to you to be able to bring a Mad Decent Block Party to Toronto?A: I feel like Dave Chappelle. No, but it’s amazing that we’re doing a show in Yonge and Dundas Square. We’re going to be blasting all sorts of unknowing onlookers with the bass!

Hardwell & Showtek - How We Do (Official Music Video)

Hardwell & Showtek's single "How we Do" official music video has been released!

Hardwell's infectious synth work pairs up beautifully with Showtek's intense low end chord play.  The Dutch team comes together to deliver another sweet progressive hit!

The music video for this was shot at EDC Las Vegas and shows Hardwell and Showtek traveling to their shows in a private helicopter and then performing to a crowd of over 50,000 people. The music video is shot in mostly black and white, but shows blasts of colors timed with drops and neon lyrics when the vocals scream "How We Do.

Each set is different, created for the time and place, taking advantage of the collective mindset of moment. Electronic Dance Music has quickly become the most exciting new music genre, and it's happened mostly outside of mainstream media.
EDM festivals that frequently draw more than 100,000 fans include Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, and Ultra Music Festival and the artists that play them like Avicii, deadmau5, David Guetta, Skrillex, and Tiesto, hugely popular with EDM fans, are largely unknown outside of their fan base. Emerging from underground raves in the 1990s, EDM's tremendous growth has largely been fueled by social networks.
What's interesting is that this isn't the

Deadmau5 Serves Fresh Brewed "Coffee" This Morning [New Music]

It's monday but Deadmau5 isn't going to let this week get off to a rough start.  Over the weekend, he released a preview of an unfinished track he has been working on called "There might be Coffee".  The track is unmastered and mixed and Joel claims to "get around to it eventually"
