There's one thing I love about Joel Zimmermen aka Deadmau5. He utilizes social media like no other to keep his fans involved. With it you see him do some truely amazing things and with it you also see some really funny gafes. This video I don't quite know where to put on that scale.
Deadmau5 gets into how he feels about Ultra Fest and it isn't to positive. It's funny but a lot of what he preaches is true. As an artist he has a reputation and image to upkeep and he talks about how festival promoters could care less about it. Part of that, is having the custom Deadmau5 stage setups and enhancements which a festival can't offer for every artists due to sets being so close to one another. So you get the artist playing behind generic setups. Which I believe reduces an artists performance when it comes to an A-list DJ like Deadmau5. There's a reason Deadmau5's team was selected to project video on the millbank tower because his videos are boss and stimulate his show.
As a brand and a company, its bad business to offer an inconsistant product. So i totally understand why Joel wants to sit out this Ultra Fest.
What we are hoping is that Deadmau5 joins forces with all the clubs in Miami or goes the SHM route and hosts his own party that doesn't interfere with Ultra. That way Ultra viewers and Deadmau5 fans get the best of both worlds.
