Daft Punk New Album with Niles Rodgers

Oh Boy, the Disco King and the Filter House Gods are coming together in what should be an interesting collaboration.  If you listen to a lot of the original Daft punk samples they come from r&b and disco stuff.  Imagine Daft punk working with an original disco artist and creating originals?  Yummy!

News of the collaboration going official broke via Niles Rodgers blog, when he posted a picture seen below of him with the Daft Punk duo.  While its truly hard to know it is Daft punk in the photo, you most likely wouldn't be able to identify them either without their crazy helmets.

The threesome got together monday at Niles New York apartment for an "informal jam session," says Niles on his blog.
"Things went so well we didn't want the day to end but I had to do a string of interviews for my upcoming Chic gigs in Australia. After doing my interviews I listened to my favorite Daft Punk records."

It appears that things went so well, there's already plan for the threesome to work out a full album. Rodgers went on to say, "We were having so much fun just in an informal setting that we decided to make it formal. And it’s very formal. It’s gonna be amazing."

Countdown to this new album!
