Morning Caffeine: THE M MACHINE - Metropolis

Cloaked by a secret alias, The M Machine, based out of San Francisco, is part of Skrillex‘s OWSLA label. The trio that makes up The M Machine may have tried to keep their identities shrouded in secrecy, but have been unable to do the same with their music, and with good reason. The trio's creativity has yielded them a new EP that brings something new to the table.  Their dynamic range spreads the sub-genre gambit from electro to dubstep.  Tracks like 'Deep search' are reminiscent of Deadmau5' unique sound but offer a different modular variation that keeps it special and interesting. 'A King Alone' could possibly be one of the best rainy day songs out there.  While the middle section of the album seeks refuge in artistic sounds and subtle tracks, 'Black' returns the energy with hard bass lines and edgy synths.  The M Machine's display of dynamic sounds progresses with a dubstep tune called 'Shadow in the Rose Garden'.  It's both beautiful and tragic in only a way dubstep can juxtapose the two adjectives.
