Local artist, Chris Z, is a recent grad from Bentley in the Boston area with absolutely no education in art or design other then that gained from his hobby.
His inspiration has come from the shows and festivals he has attended. After experimenting with zombie portraits of friends and family, he decided to transform unpredictable Steve Aoki into one knowing that he’d probably appreciate it due to the fact that all of his single covers have been drawings. The amount of unexpected attention from that piece pushed him to continue drawing different artists, with the hope that one would eventually see it firsthand. Luckily for him, Chris was contacted a few weeks ago by someone at a major record label through Instagram and found out that one of these DJ’s actually saw it for himself.
The recognition has furnished Chris the opportunity to design cover art for an EP that will be released this summer, so be sure to look out for that!
