Yesterday, July 17, the promoters behind the Coachella festival, Goldenvoice, called for a special announcement at 6pm. No one knew what was going on. Sources believed it was an announcement as to whether or not the festival was moving locations or staying put. However, Coachella had something elese in store for everyone.

...Coachella Cruise Announcement! The SS Coachella will take place with 2 inaugural voyages. One will depart December 16th for the bahamas for 3 day voyage and the other December 19 for Jamaica for a 4 day voyage. The vessel of choice will be the Celebrity Silhouette, which stretches an impressive 1,000 feet and weighs in at 122,000 tons. The ship has capacity for 1,000 guests and you can expect this to sell out in seconds.
The SS Coachella lineup is to include Pulp, Hot Chip, Girl Talk, Yeasayer, Sleigh Bells, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and about 15 other acts.
