Identity Festival Recommendations: Who to See ~ An EDMBoston Guide

Identity Festival: Who to See

Identity Festival is making its second tour around the country this summer and we know the anxiety that can go hand and hand with music festivals. In this case, the Comcast Center is small enough to move from one stage to the next during or in between sets. Here at EDM Boston, we’ve compiled a small list of DJ’s we think are absolutely necessary to see this Thursday.  Hope you’re all ready to rage Mansfield with us!

1) Excision

If you want loud, in-your-face-bass, do not miss out on seeing Excision. He is known for hitting his crowds hard with “1000 watts of bass”. His sound is unique, and often brings up questions on how he makes it, but none-the-less its great. He often works with dubstep producers Datsik and Downlink. Earlier this year he was on tour with Lucky Date and Liquid Stranger and the reviews from that tour are through the roof. You do not want to miss your chance to check out him out. He plays at the Rockstar Energy Drink Festival Stage at 7:15.

2) Audrey Napoleon

Audrey is a resident DJ in LA and already making a big name for herself. She has already been making huge moves since beginning her career in 2010. Between her song ‘ My Sunrise‘ being the soundtrack to a recent Heniekien beer commercial and sharing the stage with big name DJ’s such as Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner she’s clearly set on making it in the EDM world. Her stage presence (which I am extremely excited to see) is often described as crazy, “mind blowingly energetic” and fun . Napoleon is sure to put on an amazing show, catch her at the iHome Main Stage at 3:00.

3) Madeon

Don’t you dare let his age influence the way you view Madeon. He is well respected in the EDM world and considered a prodigy. His song Pop Culture now had over 12 million views on youtube and his debut single “Icarus” and remix to Deadmau5’s “Raise Your Weapon” should be all you need to listen to be convinced to see him this Thursday. He’s already played at huge music festivals such as Ultra, Coachella, and Electric Daisy New York. He plays at the iHome Main Stage from 7:30 to 8:30.

4) Wolfgang Gartner

You’ve probably been bopping to Tiesto and Wolfgangs collaberation “We Own The Night” all summer and you can’t even try to tell me you didn’t fall in love with Redline the first time you heard the 7 minute song. Any track with him name, and his electro-house sound on it is, yes I’m going to say it, straight fire. His music is the definition of fun and will have you moving around before you even realize it. Catch him at the iHome Main Stage at 8:30!

Last but not least, Eric Prydz, aka Pryda is an absolute must!  The identity tour is his first tour in the US in god knows how long and it is unclear after this tour how often he will return.  Remember this is a man that dropped from the Swedish House Mafia in the initials stages of the project.
