Armin Van Buuren's a Hip-Hop Fan

In a recent interview with Vibe.com, Armin Van Buuren opened up about growing up with hip-hop.  While he says that his sound is mostly, "Trance, euphoric, melodic, uplifting, that sort of stuff,"  the dutch phenom never revealed if he'd ever make a hip-hop track when asked.  If you remember correctly, Armin Van Buuren, for a long time has touted "Don't Be a Prisoner of Your Own Style."
Producing a hip-hop track would certainly be a break in the mold from the artists traditional identity.

We can't say his fan base would be to appreciative of the discourse, as well. Last summer, Armin's foray into Progressive House for a single project left fans irrate and the internet abuzz with rumors of him leaving the trance community.  We could only imagine what a single hip-hop production would do to the internet.

Armin went on to say that he "was always a big fan of Gangstarr and A Tribe Called Quest".  If given the chance to venture into hip-hop Armin said he'd prefer to work with someone like Q-Tip, or the likes, to compose a blockbuster.  Armin also gushed, "I was really a big fan of Gangstarr and I was so sad when I heard he passed away. I had all of his albums, there like classics to me."
