Paul Van Dyk at Royale: Show Preview

       Legendary, grammy winning, DJ and producer Paul van Dyk is coming to Boston to rock the decks at Royale tonight. Germany's Mathias Paul more popularly known as Paul van Dyk, or PvD by his beloved fans has been voted #1 by DJ Mag for two consecutive years in 2005-2006 and is the only DJ in the world to keep hold of a top ten spot on the list since 1998.

      Van Dyk broke onto the scene in 1993 as a Trance artist with his hit single “For an Angel” and has since produced huge hits such as “Let Go”; “White Lies”; and most recently “I Don’t Deserve You”. Throughout his career he has sold over 4.5 million albums worldwide and has accumulated numerous awards such as Mix Mag’s man of the year, DJ Magazine’s best music maker, and Ministry of Sound’s best international DJ. I think it’s safe to say that PvD has conquered much of the music industry and has even made the leap to TV and film through his sound productions, it is possible that you have heard his music in the movie “Into the Blue” or perhaps even  in a Jeep commercial .

       Whether you’re a lifetime fan or are just hearing about him through this post, you should definitely come check him out tonight at Royale. Even though he dropped the label of "Trance" producer a few years back, you can expect some ‘trance-y’ vibes with some deep ambient vocals mixed in throughout the night. One of my feel good favorites by PvD is a track called "A Wonderful Day", laced with uplifting euphoric synths. If you are looking for something to do tonight and would like to hear some happy humpday beats to get you through the week, there are still tickets available to see this legend in action.
