Have you ever sat down on the floor during a show? If you were at Winter White Tour’s last stop at the sold-out House of Blues featuring breakthrough artist Zedd last Wednesday, you would have. Zedd was called back onstage to the echoing roar of “One more song! Woo!” by the wild Boston crowd. The chant was answered with a crazy remix of Zedd’s infamous song “Spectrum”, as the entire crowd sang along. During the buildup, Zedd got on his mic and asked everyone in the building to get low on the floor and go crazy when the bass drops; and crazy we went. The entire crowd rocketed into the air as the smoke machines pumped confetti over the swarm of energetic fans whose eyes were wide with amazement due to the lasers and strobes lights. It was a euphoric moment that wont soon be forgotten by anyone that was there.

Long before Zedd was called back onstage for his encore, he was able to get the crowd going with a variety of musical genres that would please the whole crowd. He opened with his original mix of "Spectrum" [Click to watch the music video], before breaking off into some house beats which got everyone on the floor moving. The energy in the building was bouncing off the walls: girls on shoulders, Yetis dancing on stage, giant white balloons bouncing around the crowd, and tons of confetti raining down on the dressed in all-white mob of ravers.

One highlight of the night was when Zedd hopped up on his table before dropping the internet sensation “Harlem Shake” causing the crowd to go absolutely bananas. Throughout the set Zedd also through in some well known songs by Knife Party, Swedish House Mafia, and Avicii-- keeping the place bouncing and ready for more throughout the entire show. The energy was incredible as Zedd showed his love for Boston stating that it was “one of the best shows I’ve ever had.”

Anyone would agree that the energy of the crowd at the Winter White’s tour stop at the House of Blues was off the wall. Between the crowd-pleasing tracks, well-produced visuals, and fun props used throughout the show, Zedd has everybody in the building moving their feet and having a blast. Although he did seem to play a lot of mainstream house music throughout the set, I feel that he did an amazing job mixing in several other genres,  keeping everyone on their toes.

Following Zedd’s incredible encore for a sold out and crazy House of Blues, Zedd went on to tweet “Oh man! I never tweet about shows but HOLY SHIT Boston. I had goosebumps the whole time. Thank you so much!!!”, proving that the Boston EDM scene is one of the fastest growing and best in the country. All I know is, if Zedd comes back to Boston, I am definitely going.

When Zedd does come back, it will be on our Calendar of Events!
