Avicii Umass Show Reschedule Date || EDMBoston Breaking News
As you know, we broke the unfortunate news that Avicii had to cancel his show at UMass tomorrow, due to illness. He is fighting to get better and swears to make it up to his fans, as he stated on a facebook message earlier this evening.
We can't wait for Tim to get back on his feet and do what he does best. We hope with the time off, he will be refreshened and allow him the opportunity to get the production juices flowing again.
Never fear. Avicii will be back at the Mullins Center Thursday, April 19th. Hold onto your tickets as they will be redeemable at that show.

Nadia Ali Apologizes for...
Nadia Ali has come out to explain the reason for the frequent short length of her shows. As we know, artists often have little to do with the scheduling of a performance. Rather they show up, kinda decide when to go on stage, and then finish up when they are told to. All of this is dictated by contracts and big business...which is unfortunate but the nature of the business.
Nadia apologizes for the poor logistics and thanks everyone for staying loyal to her following. Her words are as follows:
"I wanted to thank the thousands of fans that have attended my shows recently. Some that have been attending for years and remain loyal fans.
Regretfully, it has been brought to my attention that some fans have been dissapointed with the length of time I am on stage performing and I wanted to take this opportunity to shed some light on this subject. When I am booked to perform at a show, my management is not the one that decides how long I will perform for. The organizers of the shows are the ones that specify how long they want me to perform and also what time my show is to begin. Many organizers feel that because my shows are almost always taking place in a nightclub environment, they feel that I should not be on stage for more than 20 minutes because of the logistical set up. Sometimes I get lucky and can do longer shows of about 50-60 minutes. However, when I am given a limited time frame of 20 minutes on stage for example, I have to make the difficult choice of choosing the most popular songs to perform during that time frame.
It is sad to me when fans hold it against me that I did not sing long enough when I have very little control over this.
Please know that when you attend my shows, they are not intended to be a conventional concert like those of a pop artist. Though I have recorded and released over 50 songs in my 11 year long career, unfortunately, I don't always have the choice to sing that many songs.
Thanks to all of my fans that have taken a moment to read this and may better understand this concern.

Well this didn't take long to be previewed in show...most likely cuz afrojack already had a beat ready to go for paris. It songs very Guetta-ish until you get to the breakdown. Thats when Afrojacks electro production talent kicks in. But man these lyrics are terrible! Really takes away from the amazing talents like Shawnee Taylor, Nadia Ali, or Skylar Grey. As you heard earlier this morning, Sebastian Ingrosso, dropped an exclusive new track he's been working on. Its called "Why am I doing this". He colloaborated with his boys Alesso and Steve Angello to make a dark surging progressive track with energetic breakdown. We'll be hearing this one for a while, given the swedish house mafia's popularity, although this track goes harder then their traditional sound.

Avicii this morning announced some troubling news this morning via his facebook. While sleeping at his hotel in Rochester after his show, there was a break in into his room. Fortunately, Avicii wasn't physically harmed. However, the goons made off with all his bags and production equipment.
Avicii is desperately trying to get it back to resume his productions on the road. If you have any leads, avicii requests, "Hit up info@atnight.se or the promoter if you know anything. I will REWARD the one who helps me get my stuff back!"

Simon Cowell launches new talent show to find DJs
Simon Cowell will re-join the Britain's Got Talent judging panel this year
(BBC) Simon Cowell is set to launch a new talent show which will search for "the world's greatest DJs". Cowell's production company Syco Entertainment say they've been working on the TV format for over a year.
The show will be produced by Syco, Sony Pictures Television and Overbrook Entertainment - the company owned by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. The programme "will capture the incredible rise of the DJ phenomena", the companies said in a statement. Simon Cowell said: "DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show." A number of DJs have had chart success over the last year with David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, DJ Fresh and Avicci all reaching the top 10 in the UK singles chart.
Jada Pinkett-Smith commented: "This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent." Simon Cowell is due to re-join the judging panel on Britain's Got Talent this year alongside Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
The 52-year-old had mixed success last year, after his gameshow Red Or Black? received a lukewarm response from critics and viewers.The X Factor also suffered a fall in viewing figures after Cowell left the show to concentrate on launching an American version of the series.

(spin) "After Cypress Hill lit up (pun intended, clearly) Los Angeles with their special appearance during a 2011 show by dubstep kingpin Rusko, it seems that the ever-blunted hip-hop pioneers might be going full wobble. Spring 2012 sees the release of the upcoming EP Cypress Hill X Rusko, a full-on collabo between the phunky feel ones and the wubby squeal one. The five-track EP merges their tireless championing of sticky icky icky with the beatmaker's chest-caving party anthems; the artists having worked together in both the studio and over email, much like the Potsal Service [sic].
Our exclusive first taste "Roll It, Light It" is a surprisingly caffeinated ode to their favorite depressant; B-Real and Sen Dog throwing a full-on, bounce-a-riffic green party at a neck-breaking 140 bpm while Rusko provides the lighter. The EP comes in early April, hot on the heels of Rusko's own solo album, Songs, due March 27. Now get in the pit and try to wub someone..."
Now this is a great use of hip-hop to make dubstep even more dynamic.

"Considering the rate at which musical trends come and go, particularly within the hyper-evolving genre timeline of electronic dance music, you might expect a recurring party to squeeze out a year or two before interest flags. That makes the weekly Thursday night drum and bass party Elements at Phoenix Landing, celebrating its 13th anniversary this week, all the more exceptional. In fact, it’s the longest running drum and bass night in the country.

DJ Lenore Fauliso plays at Phoenix Landing, where VJ Bonk.Drum and bass - a genre that spun off from rave culture and took nods from jungle and hardcore in the late 1980s and early 1990s UK club world - has splintered into dozens of subgenres over the years, but it can be typically characterized by densely layered percussion, drum samples from old funk and soul records looped into breakneck break-beats, fragments of reggae vocals and horn samples, dub-style dropouts and rewinds, distorted bass synths, and sub-bass rumbles.
When resident DJs Lenore Fauliso and Bill Crook started the night in 1999, the electronic music landscape was much smaller, and more fragmented by genre, Fauliso says."
