Daft Punk in Talks With Nile Rodgers for New Album

We Don't get to feature news often on Super Power group Daft Punk.  However, news surfaced that the duo is in talks with disco legend, Nile Rodgers, over producing a track for a talked about upcoming Daft Punk Album.  We really hope this happens because Daft Punk needs to get back out on tour.  Alive was like the ultimate cliff hanger, leaving fans wanting more and Daft punk hasn't followed up.  Maybe this will be the album that inspires a new tour??

(Pitchfork.com) Disco legend says, "Those guys are great. They're coming to my apartment and we're going to talk about making a new record together."


"Chic frontman and disco-funk pioneer Nile Rodgers tells Houston's CultureMap that he's free of cancer and planning to work with Daft Punk on the duo's forthcoming record (via the Daily Swarm "Those guys are great," he told CultureMap. "They're coming to my apartment on Monday and we're going to talk about making a new record together."

Rodgers, who has writing and production credits on tracks ranging from David Bowie's "Let's Dance" to Madonna's "Material Girl", is allegedly going to help tease out Daft Punk's R&B influences for their next album. Daft Punk are also working with songwriting legend Paul Williams.

Update: In other exciting Daft Punk news, a Panda Bear collaboration may be in the works. Noah Lennox told French outlet Les Inrocks that he initially approached them to remix a song from Tomboy. "And then they offered me to work with them on their new project", Lennox said. No word yet on exactly how the collaboration will take shape. (Thanks to reader Joseph Trouilleux for the tip!)"
