Lunch Beat Boston Launches Lunchtime Dance Hour

Lunch Beat Boston
By Mike H:

If you've ever thought you need more than just your average lunch break to disrupt the monotony of the work day, you're in luck! An organized lunchtime dance party created in Stockholm, Sweden, Lunch Beat, allows workers to shake off the cobwebs and boogie down to an hour-long DJ set, with a catered lunch.

You read that right, the Swedish Lunch Beat dance event we highlighted back in May 2012, is traveling to Boston, while cambridge to be more exact!

A free-spirited event, Lunch Beat Boston is not with out a few rules and regulations. The first two rules on the list given in the organization's manifesto?
  1. If its your first lunch at Lunch Beat, you have to dance.
  2. If its your second, third, or fourth time at Lunch Beat, you have to dance
Among the other Lunch Beat Boston rules, attendees are barred from talking about their job while getting down, which should come as a relief to those looking to escape the usual office gossip and bickering.

The group even encourages attendees to help organize their own Lunch Beats. Kicking off March, 6 at Hack/Reduce in Cambridge, the event is sure to spread to spaces in Boston in coming months.
